In the city of Lima, the SMI-ICE-Chile team successfully completed the GMIRM N3 course -Global Minerals Industry Risk Management- aimed at optimizing risk identification and developing safety leadership for the entire operation of this Peruvian mining company.

This workshop, aimed at managers and heads, was led by specialist Rocío Núñez, coordinated by Alexander Dabner, leader of Comprehensive Health and Safety at SMI-ICE-Chile, and had the expert advice of Ben Seligmann, researcher at the Minerals Industry Safety and Health Centre at The University of Queensland.

“This training was very valuable,” says Juliano Alex Ferreira, general manager of Exploration and Business Development at Nexa Resources. “I especially want to highlight the review we did of critical controls, an aspect that we will now be able to work on in greater depth within the organization. In this area, the course gave me very useful tools regarding the root of critical controls and the most important priorities in daily security management.”

Nexa Resources is a Peruvian mining company with regional scope, dedicated to the exploration, extraction, processing and marketing of zinc, copper and lead concentrates with silver and gold content.
