Project carried out by the JKTech team to update the comminution and classification model for a copper operation in Chile, previously developed using JKSimMet software based on the plant’s current operating conditions.
The comminution process occurs between ore extraction and concentration and consists of several stages aimed at reducing the size of the rocks/minerals from approximately 1 meter (on average) to a few microns (100-200). These size-reduction stages use crushing and grinding equipment, accompanied by intermediate sorting stages to ensure correct particle size reduction.
