Line of research: Environmental Rehabilitation and Ecosystem Dynamics

Laura is a Forestry Engineer from the University of Chile, with a Diploma in Landscape Design for Public Spaces from the Pontifical Catholic University of Chile and a Master’s degree in Environmental Management and Administration from Arturo Prat University. She has over eleven years of experience in environmental consulting and engineering, specializing in biotic components, with solid regulatory, technical, and territorial knowledge of ecosystems in both northern and southern Chile.

She has led and participated in more than 50 environmental projects in the mining, energy (renewable and conventional), and infrastructure sectors, serving as a specialist, project coordinator, and senior specialist in flora, vegetation, and soil. Her technical expertise includes baseline studies, seasonal monitoring, forest management plans, processing Environmental Impact Assessments (EIAs), environmental impact assessments, compensation measures, and monitoring of Environmental Qualification Resolution (RCA) commitments.

She has extensive experience interacting with government agencies (Environmental Assessment Service (SEA), National Forestry Corporation (CONAF), and Agricultural and Livestock Service (SAG), leading technical presentations, managing comments on addenda, and supporting regulatory compliance strategies. She has also developed skills in identifying socio-environmental risks, valuing ecosystem services, and making strategic decisions from an environmental perspective.

In his last position, he served as a senior specialist and leader of the Terrestrial Flora and Vegetation team at AGEA.
