Line of Research: Responsible processing and mine process optimisation

Giovanna has an undergraduate degree in mining engineering from Universidad de Concepción, an MSc in Hydrology and Water Resources Management from Imperial College London and certificates in Circular Economy from Universidad de Chile and in Responsible Mining from PUCV. Throughout her career, she has participated in numerous projects related to analysing alternatives and water resource management in mining companies, supply models, interconnection networks and watershed hydrological modelling. She also has knowledge of sustainable development of communities impacted by mining operations gleaned from participating in social performance projects. Her areas of interest include hydrological modelling, water quality impact, watershed management and sustainable resource analysis. Currently, her main role in the research line focuses on sustainable water management, evaluation of supply alternatives and sustainable mining development, through applied research, as well as project coordination.
