Rehabilitación ambiental y dinámicas ecosistémicas
David es Licenciado y Doctor en Farmacia por la Universidad de Santiago de Compostela (España), con especialización en Ecología y postgrado en Calidad de Suelos y Aguas por el Instituto de Investigación y Análisis Alimentarios de la Universidad de Santiago de Compostela (España). David forma parte del equipo de SMI-ICE-Chile desde 2018, donde actualmente ocupa el cargo de Líder Científico del Centro. David tiene más de 25 años de experiencia en investigación científica, durante los cuales ha participado en diversos proyectos nacionales e internacionales, y es autor de numerosos artículos científicos en revistas indexadas. Sus principales líneas de investigación incluyen la (bio)geoquímica, la (eco)toxicología y los riesgos para la salud humana de arsénico y otros elementos tóxicos en sistemas medioambientales, la estabilidad química y reutilización de residuos mineros (especialmente relaves de Cu y lodo rojo de bauxita), la remoción de metales y metaloides tóxicos en aguas y efluentes, la (bio)remediación de aguas y suelos contaminados, y los impactos de material particulado en el medioambiente y las comunidades.
