Giovana is a Civil Mining Engineer from Universidad de Concepción, degree obtained with maximum distinction. She also has a Graduate Diploma in Responsible Mining from Pontificia Universidad Católica de Valparaíso, Chile. She has experience in water management in the mining industry as she did her internship at the Sustainable Minerals Institute of The University of Queensland, Australia. Her thesis project was done at the Centre for Water Resources for Agriculture and Mining (CHRIAM) at Universidad de Concepción. Her skills are in water supply models [ArcGIS] and the analysis of alternatives in water resources management for the mining industry in Chile.
She currently works as a Junior Research Engineer at SMI-ICE-Chile, part of the Sustainability team, focused on water resources and social responsibility in mining.
