Dennis is a Chemical Engineer, from Universidad Santiago de Chile with a PhD. in Mineral Processing, from the Imperial College London. He also has a Master in Waste Treatment, from the  University of Stuttgart.
His main areas of expertise are Optimization of hydrocyclone designs using CFD simulations, (Bio)leaching of low-grade minerals and the physical characterization of mineral slurries from mining industry. His areas of interest are Mineral processing, particularly in particle classification using hydrocyclones.

He currently works as senior researcher in the Processing: energy, water and emissions line of research at SMI-ICE-Chile.
