Nigel is an Economist, from the Queensland University of Technology and is a Ph.D (c) from the Sustainable Minerals Institute of The University of Queensland. He also has a Master in Social Development from the University of Melbourne. 

His main expertise is the design, Design, implementation and  evaluation of projects that support the social development of vulnerable communities. His areas of interest are the mining sector’s social risk areas, indigenous peoples and mining industry.

He currently works as a Social Researcher in the Social Performance and Safety line of research at SMI-ICE-Chile.
